It’s time for one of the universe’s most beloved desserts of all time (well, ours at least): Skillet Chocolate Chip Bars. Fact: If we are in the same room as these chocolate chip bars, we are unable to resist them, no matter what the time of day.
Why? They’re deliciously chewy and the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Plus, there’s nothing better than that moment where you bite into one and that perfect chocolate morsel just melts in your mouth. Hands-down, there is no better dessert.
Why Make Chocolate Chip Bars in a Skillet?
Yes, chocolate chip bars are delicious no matter what pan you make them in. But when you make chocolate chip bars in a skillet, you get a little “extra.” You get that delicious ring of crispy edges, plus you get a gooey center. And when you top it with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream, you’ve got the perfect share-able dessert.
We recently started baking these bars in our favorite Carbon Steel Skillet from Marquette Castings (this one is 10.75 inches). They bake *perfectly* in this pan (and eating them is fun too).

How to Cut Skillet Chocolate Chip Bars
After make these bars in a round skillet, cutting them in rectangles probably won’t make sense.
The most logical option, of course is to cut them in wedges like you would slice a pie. But – if you’re sharing with a friend or friends, you don’t even need to cut them at all. Hand everyone a spoon and let them dig in.
In fact, that sounds like a great idea. We’re off right now to share some with a friend.
