Confession time: When I see a watermelon, I don’t imagine it cut in neat little wedges. I see pirate ships, whales, beach buckets, Angry Birds, and Shrek. And I love sharing and swapping easy watermelon carving ideas.
When people invite me to a party, I offer to bring the watermelon because I know that way I’ll have an excuse for carving one up.
There’s really no limit to what you can create. Some people are amazing artists, but I generally like to keep it simple. (My rule of thumb: It should take no longer than one hour. That’s generally amount of time that you have before a party when you realize you need something fun to bring.)
