Holiday Flicks, Snacks, and Tricks for #StreamTeam

The holiday season is rolling around, which means lots of food, family time, and (we hope) movie time. Nothing says “winter vacation” to us like having the whole family curled up around a great movie. And in honor of family movie time, we’ve got Netflix #StreamTeam flicks, snacks, and tricks up our sleeves. (Tricks?!? Yep – read on.)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Of course Netflix has all kinds of our family favorites already streaming, but each month there’s something new. This month they’ve added classics such as Home (about a wayward alien who strikes up a friendship with a human girl), the Spongebob Squarepants Movie, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (with Johnny Depp). Then of course, we’ve got our favorite Netflix shows, including, Phineas and Ferb, Bob’s Burgers, Arrested Development, Portlandia, and more.

Now what are we going to eat while we watch these flicks? We’re not going to settle for “just” popcorn. In fact, we’ve got a whole range of colorful (and healthy) snacks for you, including:

Purple Potato Chips (the prettiest potato chips you’ll ever snack on):

Chatpatta Warm Nut Mix (a warm, spicy, and crunchy snack mix that’ll have your kids begging for more):

Puppy Chow (a classic movie snack, preferably served when there’s a canine friend in the movie):

Kids’ Holiday ‘Mocktail’ Bar (your ultimate kids’ holiday beverage station, served in plastic cups of course):

So…much…good…food!

Last but not least, after all of that watching and feasting, you’re going to need some “tricks.” What do we mean by tricks? Those are the sneaky strategies you employ when your kids keep asking to stay up for “five more minutes.” Netflix has got you covered! This month, the Dinotrux show launched a series of “5-Minute Favorites” – five-minute shows that give your kid one last indulgence before bedtime.

Now when they say, “Can I watch just a few more minutes?” you can say, “Sure – you can watch a whole show!” Tricky, eh?

Enjoy the family time!

My kids finally watched Depp’s version of ‘Charlie’ and enjoyed it. I’m still partial to Gene Wilder’s version, but you can’t beat the special effects of the newer film! Happy Thanksgiving!
