Headed to an L.A. Galaxy soccer game this fall with your family? At StubHub Center in Carson, you’ll find more than just the usual stadium fare. The stadium has upped the ante with food offerings that you’d be more likely to find at an upscale restaurant than in the stands.
“All of our guests have been asking for a variety of different food options…not just basic burgers and hot dogs, but to take it up a notch,” said StubHub Center General Manager Katie Pandolfo at a tasting event earlier this week.
That means menu options like Korean BBQ short ribs, Jamaican jerk chicken, Hawaiian tuna poke, and street corn nachos are now on the menu, along with local favorites like Fresh Brothers pizza and Rock and Brews ‘Backstage Burgers.’
“Hopefully we can continue to grow and really change the view of what concessions stands can offer,” said Chef Ross Luciano, who noted that the short ribs had sold out quickly every time they were offered since they were first introduced in July.
The centerpiece of the new food offerings is the upscale Stand 18, which is where game-goers can order food as well as local craft beers during L.A. Galaxy games. Most of the new menu items can be found at concessions stands across the stadium as well.
New restaurant partner Fresh Brothers already has a loyal following across the L.A. area and is sure to find new devotees for its pizza at StubHub Center. Fresh Brothers founder Adam Goldberg let us in on a little secret too… If you head to StubHub on one of the special event nights, you might find special pizzas too (like taco pizza on September 12 for Hispanic Heritage Night).
Also new this year is a partnership with Planet Popcorn, a gourmet popcorn maker with specialty flavors like Birthday Cake and Chocolate Granola. (With flavors like that, who needs dessert?)
Now, who’s ready to watch some amazing soccer? The LA Galaxy schedule is available here.
