Craving something a little different for your dipping? Have we got an awesome sauce for you! Not Ketchup is the brainchild of our talented friend Erika Kerekes, of In Erika’s Kitchen, and it is the perfect alternative to ketchup for dipping and saucing.
Not Ketchup is a tangy gourmet dipping sauce made from ripe seasonal fruit instead of tomatoes. With farm-fresh onions, pure apple cider vinegar, natural sweeteners (no white sugar and no high-fructose corn syrup), and spices, it adds up to a tangy, savory dipping sauce that’s heavenly on burgers, steaks, chicken, ribs, sausages, and fries.
We were thrilled to receive a sample earlier this week of the Blueberry White Pepper and Cherry Chipotle flavors. They both had rich, multilayered flavors, and a little “zing” to them.
Since we were already in the “dip differently” mode, we decided to twist up our usual French fries for parsnip fries for pairing with the blueberry/white pepper Not Ketchup. The result? An insanely delicious sweet-tangy-salty combo that was highly addicting and perfectly satisfying.
Parsnip fries: Slice 3 large parsnips into thin shoestring slices. Drizzle with olive oil and toss. Roast at 425 degrees for 10 minutes; turn the parsnips, then roast for another 10 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.
